Hi there, I've got a folder which contains 15797 files + 1386 folders when viewing properties. However, when searching for '*' within this same folder, I only see 14510 files + 1386 folders. Can you help explain the difference? I think it may relate to access permissions, as the files are media files and I noticed the difference after connecting XBMC. My only other theories are that it relates to hidden files (*.ini or album art?). It'd be reassuring to be able to find out exactly what is causing the discrepancy.

Hi, Based on my test, when you right click a folder and choose Properties, all files will be counted including hidden files and system protected files. However, when you search for * within the folder, hidden files and system protected files will not be included. Hope this helps. Jeremy Wu TechNet Community Support
